Eh, my dad isn't so bad at computers, he went to collage and is actually very smart with computers, not as smart with me; I have to help him a lot, but he knows the hardware aspects.

Everyone in my school seems to think the monitor will turn on the computer and start getting mad when nothing happens.
Then when someone shows them how you turn it on, they will get mad when it takes 5 minutes to start, and turn it off and on.
And then they wonder why it takes so long to start...

My grandma couldn't open internet explorer (For facebook)
She said "I keep clicking it, but nothing happens."
I Ask her to show me what she's doing.
She only clicked once.

My mom thinks that I'm hacking her computer from in my room all the time, so she presses start, and in that search box in Windows 7, she types "hacker," and then "virus," thinking that that will do something.

lol my grandpa is great with computers and he's 71

he is also a great gamer apparently

My dad's really good with computers, but he works as an engineer so he has to work with computers all day ^^ My mom is meh, she usually asks my dad or my sister for help when she needs it but other than that she's ok.

But my grandma... She's never used a computer before...

>mom buys really cheap Windows tablet laptop, Pentium M 1.7 GHz, 1 GB RAM, etc.
>installs a bunch of third-world-coding powered realtor applications
>OMG WINDOWS IS SO BROKEN!
>buys a Macbook Pro with my help (because seriously she needs something simple god dammit)
>complains about how none of the realtor applications support Mac or how they don't support anything other than IE6/7.

>Mom asks me to help her with something on the computer.
>I tell her exacly what to do.
>She does it wrong
>Mom: YOUR NOT TELLING ME THE RIGHT WAY, YOU DON"T KNOW HOW TO DO THIS
>Me: No your doing it wrong
>She attempts a couple more times and does exacly what I told her to do
>Mom: See I just did it by myself, you don't know anything.

>When I was about 12 years old
>My computer wasn't working
>Spend a few hours trying to fix it
>Ask my dad
>He does something he hadn't taught me yet and fixes it

Oh wait, we're supposed to post about parents who don't understand computers?

I have to DO EVERY GOD DAMN THING that has to do with technology in this house.

Such as:

Turning on the wii and starting netflix
Plugging IN the wii
turning on a DVD player and starting the movie

Also, some stupid crap like this I have to deal with:
>"The DVD is broken"
>Check in back of TV, the brown townog cables or w/e aren't plugged in

>"WHAT DID YOU DO TO THE COMPUTER IT IS SLOW"
>Haven't used my mom's computer in 2 years or more.
(The specs are AMD Semphron 2.2 GHz, 1 GB of ram, Windows XP home, Nvidia 6100SE, 80 GB hard drive)

>Mom asks me to help her with something on the computer.

My god this.

My dad is completely computer illiterate. It would take him almost an hour to type a few sentences in an email. Thankfully, I help him out with that. The only sites he goes on to are CNN and Craigslist.

My mom, even though she has a computer science major, is sometimes horrible with computers. At least she can use one, but she uses it most of the time for Facebook or chatting with her friends/boyfriends.

My mom thinks Steam is a Trojan virus.
My brother says that steam lags our computer because it uses too much computer stuff.

And my dad works with computers, soo hes not as desperate.

To rephrase our dad part, he's bad with computers, but he doesn't lie about it.
He has no use for computers besides finding jobs, which he can virtually do on his own.

My dad is okay with computers, but my mom is horrible. She'll automatically think she'll have a virus if her computer is being any slower then she wants it to be. She also doesn't generally know anything about technology, she can't' even sen a text message. She thinks that moving the cursor or clicking when you have the hourglass is super bad for your computer because she says "it will try to run too many things at once, and then it will break because it has too many things going on"

affair?

Every time I walk past my dad, I swear to god, there are like, 10 torrents running simultaneously, and while he's playing Civilization V at the same time. (Complete opposite for my mom. She only knows the basics of operating the computer and the cameras to our little family restaurant.)

Also, my dad is a cigarette and purposely switched my usb cables upside down so it melted the insides of my slightly expensive Flash Drive. FFFFFFFFFUUUUU
