Author Topic: Majora's Mask: one huge plot hole.  (Read 5239 times)

It's a Zelda game. Magic exists in Zelda games. The moon destroys the world, even at the slow pace it crashes into the planet with, out of sheer magic.

To put it simply: They ain't gotta explain stuff.

Well then with sheer magic Link should be able to travel back before the mask were stolen.

I liked that moon so much for some reason that I set it as my avatar.

where does it say it crashes slowly and how fast is that

The ocarina of time can only send him back three days. And Link isn't the one who's magic, the moon is magic.

In the cut scene where it crashes you can tell it's not moving very fast.

It's actually implied that people have already evacuated by the time you arrive in Clock Town. That's the reason that the town isn't packed with tons of people so close to the festival. Almost everyone left in town owns a shop of some sort. There are also several cases where specific people give reasons why they're not evacuating.

Even if the few remaining in town did evacuate, there would be nowhere to go.

So link can travel 7 years in time in Ocarina of time, he can travel 10 years in some other game. Link could even travel 100 years in some gameboy game and then travel in the alternate universe of that world as well.

He can't travel back to an extra day?

You're making too much sense again.

He "traveled" 7 years into the future because he wasn't old enough to be the Hero of Time when he pulled the Master Sword from the pedestal so he was put into some stasis or some stuff until he became old enough

When link traveled 7 years in time, he used the master sword.

The Ocarina's ability to take him back in time was never explained so really any explanation could be made up for that.

An interesting thing to notice is that when you first go back to the first day in Majora's Mask, it shows the intro to the game which implies you relived that again. Theres plenty of room to argue that Link could have done at that point but that's where there aren't really any details at all to talk about it.

The 7 missing years of link when he jumped from child to adult caused chaos in between, some hero.

With all the stuff going on, he was constantly disabled. All those cases of excessive time travel has limitations, like swords and such. It wasn't totally free. He only has his Ocarina here.

Lord Tony, this should be your real problem. Seriously listen to what he has to say: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vY_Ry8J_jdw

Now consider traveling back over and over.

Damn, you basted the childhoods of a bunch of us and got this popular through it.

Because no one was there to stop Ganondorf, or something like that.

What about the gameboy game where he can travel 100 years? I think it was oracle of seasons.
