Author Topic: How to get TF2 Censored?  (Read 3650 times)

I am married and have kids. These kids of mine watch me as I play games. Once I found out that TF2 is free and heard how much fun it is, I suddenly became concerned about exposing my kids to violence, especially that they sometimes investigate the games I play. So I ask you this:

Is there any way (Besides flying to Germany and getting a boxed copy there and flying back home) that I could censor TF2? (It might sound ridiculous but I'm just being a parent.)

Nope.

..When your name is "JakDaStripR"

Also, you're asking a forum of immature kids who play a lego game

There are ways to do sound and image edits, I could probably whip up some invisble textures for the blood and censor bleeps/sound replacement with other sounds for the speech.

It might take a while though, I do my work on my computer and play TF2 on my sister's (since mine is really crappy).

But the exploding pieces of body parts I wouldn't know how to censor other than make them not bloody.

I was just about to say that.

I like how you generalize everyone as Immature Kids.
I'm almost 18, and I would consider myself decently mature.
You also insulted yourself in this post.

Also I don't quite understand censoring.
Killing is killing, blood or not.

No blood mod right there

You generalized everyone as immature kids, which is basically assuming everyone who plays this is a kid. I could name alot of people on these forums who are extremely helpful and mature.

I'm not flaming, there is a very distinct difference between flaming and arguing.

Nope.

:cookieMonster:
Does anyone else agree that censoring TF2 Is the wrong way to go?
If he wants his kids to not be exposed to violence, he is doing it wrong.
Basically, removing blood from the game is not making it less violent, just less gruesome.

You can also play on party servers or whatever they're called.

the right way to do this is play TF2 when they're at school, and then play some more child friendly games (BLOOOOOOCKLAND) when they're home

It's pretty obvious you aren't married.  But just type -sillygibs in the launch options.

But seriously, how do you take violence out of an FPS?

Thank you. That is exactly what I am saying.
If anything it teaches them that shooting people has no consequences if they don't bleed.
