See you in the basement

That's a terrible place to be. The major threat of hurricanes is flooding. Being in your basement during a flood is not wise. The only safe place to be is away from the storm.

I rather live in the 100% zones of hurricane Irene.

Option 1: Wait inside the house for the hurricane to blow your house down with you inside.

Option 2: Wait inside the house for some flying glass to pierce you.

Option 3: Wait inside the house while a door or window breaks open and you get sucked right out.

Option 4: Wait inside the house while a car crashes into the house possibly killing you.

Option 5: Take your chances with flooding in the basement.

The only safe place to be is away from the storm.

Easier said than done.

Option 6: Wait in basement with collapsed house on top allowing you no escape while the basement floods with you in it.

Most basements have more than one way out, some with exits leading outside the house too. You could even break open the basement window and climb through it.

Oh and some basements even have drains so in case of a flood it would just drain out. It's always good to prepare your basement for such a disaster.

I'm pretty much gonna die.

I didn't know you lived in CT. :D Come to my house, we can play Blockland.
You guys should meet me in Hartford sometime.

Living in the middle of the United States has it's perks.
For one, I won't ever have the chance of being flooded.

ITT: Northerns worry about what Southerns deal with every year.

Yeah you just live in one of the worst tornado states in the country, if not the worst.

All of you in the New York area, Vermont, Massachusetts, and Jersey, I recommend that you go out and nail boards over your windows. The storm is going to be it's worst in the New York metropolitan area. If you live by Battery Park, you need to move to higher ground.

Believe me, I live in Florida. This has happened before.

Oh, and have fun with probably two weeks without power.

It means buildings ravaged, people hit by flying stop signs, the bottom falling out.

Regular stuff.

Nope. Just a lot of wind, bad storms, and possible flooding.
