Can we still rP the battle, or are you doing that to?

Send me commands, I'll post results.

Keep it peaceful until saturday morning, I'm going to be out of town.

OK, here's what I suggest for a Galaxy 1.0-esque game.

1) That we implement a points system for starting civilizations. Common areas of research would have points values in the OP (for example, relativistic speed tracking systems 100-500 points (depending on the accuracy of the tracking systems)). The size of your starting area would cost you points based on its largeness, your initial fleet would also cost you points (note that players SHOULD have an initial fleet if you want the game to stay interesting). They'll still err on the side of peace because they won't necessarily have a military complex yet to produce more.

2) That each starting civilization be allowed X amount of points to spend (I suggest 1000 as a number to work around (obviously the above example isn't fitted to a 1000 point cap)).

3) That if a starting civilization wants to have something researched or built at the start that doesn't already have a point value they consult the person running the game (this way we make sure that everyone's using the same scifi lore).

4) That after players create their civilization they can judge how long a thing will take to research or build based on it point cost modified by their efficiency.

5) That the game start out with a TON of documentation, especially on how space travel works and what kind of weapons are viable and what kinds aren't, and on the layout of the galaxy.

6) That players be required to have a basic knowledge of astronomy and how it would relate to a galactic economy.

I'll add more as I think of it.

I could document the types of ships and weapons. Infact, working on it right now.

What would you call the whole Earth 2.0 series (Earth 2.0, 3.0, 4.0)?

Ships, Galaxy 1.0.

Fighters, the soldiers of space combat.

Light fighter: A small ship around the size of a fighter jet. These kinds of fighters usually have one light weapon mount and two missile mounts. They have two seats, one for the pilot/gunner and one for the navigation. These cost 25 points.

Medium Fighter: A craft around twice the size of the light fighters. They have around 3 light weapon mounts and 8 missile mounts. They have three seats, one for the pilot, one for the gunner, and one for navigation. These cost 50 points.

Skirmisher: This craft is a small ship, just a bit smaller than the light fighter. These are only meant for space combat, and cannot be used on planets. They have one seat, and have one light weapon mount and one missile mount.
They come with other ships.

Frigates, the meat of any fleet.

Light Frigate: A craft around the size of a C130 Hercules. It has one medium weapon mount, and two light weapon mounts. It also has 15 missile mounts. It have five people as a crew, two gunners, one communication operator, one navigator, and one pilot. The comms operator can act as co-pilot in a pinch. It costs 100 points.

Medium Frigate: Arguably the most used ship in any fleet, the medium frigate is the backbone of any fleet. It has two medium weapon mounts, one heavy weapon mount, and 20 missile mounts. It holds one skirmisher. It has a 10-man crew. 3 gunners, two pilots, one skirmisher pilot, one communicator, two mechanics, and one navigator. It costs 200 points.

Dreadnought: The dreadnought is about the size of a Boeing Jumbo 747. It has three heavy weapon mounts, five medium weapon mounts, and 10 light weapon mounts. It has a 21 man crew. 15 gunners, one navigator, three pilots, two mechanics, and one communication expert. It holds two skirmishers.. It costs 300 points.

That's only a fourth of the ships section, not including weapons.

I suggest also adding some personnel and cargo carriers.

EDIT: and also an indication of effective speed

Like I said it's only a part.

Oasis, if you'd rather continue Earth 4.0 I'll take Galaxy somewhere else. If you want to mess around in this thread I'll keep it here.

EDIT: I'm going to take Galaxy out of this thread so everyone can keep playing.

Durand, though very small and poor, would like to sell some of it's iron found in the vast iron mountain ranges, about 200 miles north of Badshire.

Price starts at .05 universal dollars a cubic centimeter

Yep, so this thread will remain as Earth 4.0, Galaxy will be another forum game.

We need to internationally discuss currency and such.

Seeing as though as that is still in the very early stages of development, Shadovia would provide goods for Durand for 3 years, but in return for access to the mines for 5 years.

How much iron do you plan to take out each month?

By the way, they are mountains literally formed out of iron.

Oh, we dont just want the iron. We want the titanium,  also. Whatever else we find down there we will notify you about it.
