Author Topic: Phantasy Star Online - "A new world"  (Read 5536 times)

In the year 2000, Sega announced a game that would change the world of console gaming, by making the world's first console network multiplayer consumer RPG. Originally released on the dreamcast, a port was added on PC, starting a swarm of spin-offs and additions.

Main Features

In Phantasy Star Online, it allowed you to experience having adventures with people all over the world, or chatting and hanging out with people in the lobby. To complete the mystery of this game, you must team up with people all over the world and find out together by defeating ferocious monsters and exchanging information and items. Sadly, Sega closed down the servers. Luckily, people have been making private servers (Not sure if game is free, I just use the game I had back in 2000). Or, you can play offline, either way, just get on and play!

Discuss this awesome game and it's possible addition, Phantasy Star Online 2.

I play PS-Zero. This series is pretty loving awesome.

May DL if free

Official support of Blue Burst was shut down, so the only way to play is on a private server.

I realize that discussing private servers are against the rules, but...it's the only way. :o

Love the series. All Dreamcast games have this "futuristic" feel to them for some reason, maybe it's the music.
I used to play PSO on the GC, but then server went boom and no more PSO on GC. I played PSZ for a moment, but then...meh. I prefer the overworld multiplayer feel instead of invite gameplay.

Still waiting for PSO 3DS to be announced :3

I remember playing episode 1&2 with my friend a loooong time ago. Then I moved. :'<

Played too much, Waiting for 2.

Is it really that good?
I played PSU, and it just sucked after awhile.
Better yet, what gameplay aspect makes this different/better than PSU?

Played:
PSO ep 1&2 (gamecube) and nearly completed everything except ultimate ruins and all of ultimate episode 2. Not even close to level 200 yet though. :(     RAmar main.
PSO ep 3 (gamecube), too easy, no one really to play against except handicapped bots, got bored of it.
PSU (xbox 360), beat story mode with that one guy and then stopped playing it/got rid of it. Ranger all the way, hitting all parts of the boss (first form) with the bow = ownage.
PS Zero (DS), did stuff lol. RAmar main.
PSP2 (PSP), currently playing this. Vanguard human going through story, hunter beast for multiplayer.

In that order too.

PSU is actually newer than PSO, however, I have enjoyed PSO a lot more, although slower paced.

Never heard of PH: Universe, but I've heard of PSU, which would be PS: Universe.

PS Zero, I play a level 41 FOMar
Let me go check my level.
Whoops, I don't think I have it anymore, or I lost it.
