It's a guy who cries about the glass being half empty.

I've chosen mad world, and I know it's deep but I don't know how to explain it, can someone help?

But... Scatman... and Disturbed

I don't want to set the world on fire by the Ink Spots.

It's a metaphor for life.
"Life is a waterfall; we're one in the river and one again after the fall"

It's really not a hard song to decipher. Just look up the lyrics, and they're pretty straight forward. Really though, the basic meaning of it (by my interpretation) is the only time we're actually alone is in death. Once reborn, either in spirit or in body, we're all together again.

It's just another way of saying "we're all people, and we're all in this together."

the main theme of mad world is basically Self Delete
"hide my head I want to drown my sorrows, no tomorrow"

Disturbed's "Indestructible" was written to give the listener motivation and the feeling of bloodlust, rage and a desire for war.

Disturbed's "Inside the Fire" was based off of how the singer had a girlfriend who committed Self Delete, and how he stands over her body while the Devil talks to him in the form of the lyrics of the song ("Give your soul to me, for eternity/release your life to begin another time with her; end your grief with me/there's no other way").

"Youth of the Nation" deals with the depression hitting today's youth etc. etc.

Breaking Benjamin's "So Cold" contains metaphors for today's world and death in the world.

In Flames' "The Quiet Place" is a metal song that is mainly about not caring what others think of you ("Judge me now, just be afraid to let it show, bow down/A king in my own mind")
