The imperials should MARCH ON SUMMERSET ISLE.

The way I see it, agreeing to enforce the ban on the worship of Talos is what caused unrest to begin with.

The Imperials enforce the will of the Thalmor, for the greater good of the Empire. If they didn't, then the Thalmor would literally grind the Empire into a pulp before breakfast. Then, the whole of Tamriel would be ruled by arrogant jaundice-faced pricks. The will of the Thalmor is restriction of Talos worship because they don't consider him a pure Divine, and so the Imperials enforce it. I don't see why everybody isn't against the Thalmor, because they're the real bad guys.

They didn't really have a choice.

The imperials should MARCH ON SUMMERSET ISLE.
They got forced into submission and have barely any army to speak off, not to mention the bulk of some of there strongest warriors have decided to turn against them instead of being patient and waiting until the Thalmor could be overthrown.

I love playing devil's advocate for this topic.

I see, then.

So that's why everyone seems to hate high elves.

I hated them since Morrowind, they always seem like such smug bastards.

They seemed pretty nice in Oblivion. But then along came Skyrim when they looked like Mac Tonight.

Appearance aside, they became arrogant pricks. The lot of them. I've never met an Altmer in Skyrim that I liked.
Oh and they became hell-bent on world domination. They weren't like that in Oblivion.

I suppose there's reasons to fight for or against both sides. I will surely have to make an imperial-sympathizing character (though I'm sure I would have regardless). I fear I will not be getting into my New Vegas DLCs for some time..

Who the forget cares, you'd be dumb to have a non-altmer mage
I mean lol, why wouldn't you

The means and ends of both the Empire and the Stormcloaks are honorable. Except perhaps that the Empire's means are a tad cowardly.
The Thalmor are just bad. Buttheads, all of them.

I tried rolling an Altmer mage, I got my ass kicked. Bretons are much better for their magic resistance.

You get hit by magic regardless of what you're playing as, so that's of very little consequence. Just because you're unable to defend your weak little mage doesn't mean breton is a better choice

Well it's the best choice for me because I suck at mage characters.
I suck at all characters, really. It's just a matter of difficulty level.

Lately I've been letting my friend play Skyrim on my PC.

This horse is legendary.
