Someone explain to me the practicality of glass when making weapons and armor.

Glass Armor looks cool, but I cant imagine it working good in real life.

A single blow from a hammer would be deadly.

Especially with the brittleness and fragility of glass from that era.

Now you have me thinking.

Lets say Glass was no longer the top tier Light Armor. What would they replace it with?

Dragon hide?

The game is going to be rated M as well: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/113129-Slow-Mo-Decapitations-Earn-Skyrim-an-M-Rating

My Mind = Blown
Hey, it's possible. I can't see dragon hide being a heavy armor; it's often touted in other fantasy worlds as like steel: Light and strong. Only more so than steel.
I can't see it being any heavier than, say, mithril.

I think the ESRB is stupid for rating things so foolishly.

Oh well, its not like a rating has ever stopped sales.

hmmm, the dragons might have scales, which would be better as heavy armor.
Dragon Wing could be the light armor.

I thought that Dragon Hide/Scales were rather light, but very durable.

Actually yeah, Dragon scales and hides would be light armour.
Dragon bone should be the best heavy armor/best weapons.

Definitely.
I would like to see something like in the Shivering Isles, where you would have to provide the bones and then they would make the weapons for you.

You'll be able to craft your own weapons and armor in Skyrim, so if there is such a thing you would make it yourself.

I would hope that the weapons would be expensive to make, in terms of resources needed.
