I Know Why The Caged Dragon Shouts
A parody of Maya Angelou's "I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings"
Alduin leaves,
sent forth by the Kel,
and floats downstream
on the currents of Time,
and dips Helgen
in his orange fire-breath
and dares to eat the world.
But Odahviing, sitting
in Dragonsreach
can seldom see through
his bars of rage;
his wings useless, body in chains
so he opens his throat to Shout.
Odahviing shouts
with a fearful roar
of things unknown
but longed for still,
and his Thu'um is heard
on the distant hill,
for Odahviing
shouts of freedom.
Alduin thinks of another breeze,
the powerful Shout of the Dragonborn,
and fat men waiting in old Whiterun,
and claims Skyrim his own.
But Odahviing stands on a grave of dreams,
Alduin ignores his nightmare scream,
his wings useless, body in chains,
so he opens his throat to Shout.
Odahviing shouts
with a fearful roar
of things unknown
but longed for still,
and his Thu'um is heard
on the distant hill,
for Odahviing
shouts of freedom.
