They aren't. They are shorter because the time moves faster but not shorter if you set the timescale to a 1:1 ratio

Also consider BC years when comparing.

My Altmer is a friend of the Thalmor.

They are sure taking a while to get more advanced

They are sure taking a while to get more advanced

no not really
2400 elder scrolls =/= 2400 A.D.
elder scrolls has no "B.C." years

if anything theyre advancing too fast, they already have all this advanced weaponry, huge cities, etc and theyve only been around 2400 years. 2400 years after humans were around we were still cavemen.

The dwemer have autonomous battle robots that function for hundreds of years and myriad machinery that hasn't stopped ticking for god knows how long. I'm just surprised they never invented the gun...

They only started their calendar that long ago.

They were probably cavemen too. But We are in 2012 A.D. We had what they had around 1000 years or less.

We are faster. We are Superior

ANd they discovered the secret to godhood and ascended into heaven.

My theory on the disappearance of dwemer is that they all got into a rocket and went into space.
It's a valid theory based on lore, except for possibly that one quest in Skyrim that I haven't done but heard about.

I'd guess that magic has something to do with their ridiculous rate of advancement. Especially in the case of the Dwemer, those machines are unbelievable... The gods actively loving with the mortals probably has something to do with it, too. I wouldn't be surprised if a good bit of the technology they have came from enlightenment from the gods.

It's safe to assume they didn't reach their level of technology in 2400 years. Humans have had a long period of time, far longer than recorded history, where they lived in tribes until they founded the first cities and started recording history.

The iron age of civilization on earth lasted roughly 2000 years. Before that was the bronze age which lasted for basically 3000 years. 2400 is roughly half the time of these ages together. I'd say they are about on track.

The non-Dwemer races of tamriel are in the iron age.

If only the Eight Divines would interfere in our lives. But not the Daedra, please.
