Why does everyone use lydia, i just told that bitch to clean my house and ran to explore the world

because I'm a newbie and I don't know such things yet. c:

I kill Lydia first chance I get.
"Im sworn to carry your burdens" just pisses me off.

They're nice looking, and you collect them for later on in the game.
So yes, they are.
collectibles are not something you use later
the bugs in bottles are collectibles, as well as the three eating utensils you can find/get
dragon priest masks are not

Iona says it a lot less sarcastically <3

I'm pretty sure if you collect them for a certain purpose, they're considered collectibles.

Mjoll can actually fight without acting stupid.

Vorstag is awesome, and follows better than others surprisingly.

Argis the Bulwark is a loving tank too.

she's essential, too, I think

Theres an shout in the building below him as well. If you do not get the shout and the mask before entering Sovngarge, they are lost forever as you cannot return to that area once you enter Sovngarge and complete the main storyline. However you can still recover them if you go back to a save in that area or before the dragon takes you there.
What shout is it?

the dragon masks aren't used up, just collected in order to unlock something else
They are actually more of a collectible sort of thing than most considering they have a stand and everything

and besides a collectible is something you can collect, anything in the game is a collectible. Just cause it doesn't fit your definition of what a collectible should be in a game doesn't mean it isn't a collectible.

I guess you're right
I think of every daedric artifact except Azura's star as collectibles, because they're rather useless in terms of being proper weapons

Wabbajack isn't useless.
I think on the console you can properly level your companions by transforming them. Plus it's just an awesome weapon to have.

Whats everybodys favourite mask?
For my mage I like Morokei and Nahkriin

I do agree that the daedric artifacts are pretty useless, but that dagger is sweat.

J'zargo levels with you anyway, supposedly
Wabbajack's really only useful on high-leveled opponents that you would have a problem with, since it transforms them and can give you a second to charge up a more powerful spell or something to that effect

Morokei's the one that does some magicka fortification right?
I could use that one, only with my magic character though
and whichever one lets you breath underwater, except on my Argonian character though, obviously
Mehrune's Razor is cool, assuming that's what you're talking about
shame you can't disenchant it though, I'd rather have it on a more damaging weapon

I started a new game using the alternate start mod and immediate dragons. I chose the shipwreck start and swam into dawnstar to be attacked by a dragon. I found a staff of firebolts in the wreckage but other than that and a woodcutter's axe i'm a defenseless nord against a dragon with a couple of stuffty guards.
Keep in mind that I got a mod that makes dragons much harder to kill and makes it so that npcs to decreased damage to them.

It's loving hard to kill this thing
