i'd suggest
warzones it seems a lot more polished. i've heard it bloats saves though.
nexus has better mods and is generally more helpful if you're looking for user support.
who here uses ENB and which ENB do you use? i'm running vivid.for new skyrim mod users:
NEXUS MOD MANAGER BETTER THAN THE DEFAULT ONE
BOSS- Fixes load order so mods flow and work with eachother better
SKSE Skyrim Script Extender- Allows more advanced stuff to be done with the engine.
Sharpshooter ENB-
VIDEO THE GLORIOUS PC IN ITS TRUE FORM. feel free to replace with another ENB. sharpshooter's is standard, but not very fine tuned. check out the links in the video too!
Static Mesh Improvement Mod- Less
console uglyness for those with MODERN TECHNOLOGY
Climates Of Tamriel- Unique climates. doesn't work for all ENBs
Alternate Start- A new intro instead of the same thing every roll
Categorized Favorites- Better favorites for PC not a console port
SkyUI-UI made for PC not a console port
Unofficial patch-Fixes stuff
Character Enhancement- Makes characters look better.
Weapons of the Third Era-Morrowind and Oblivion weapons.
JaySuS Swords- More cool swords
Convinient Horses- Makes horses not suck.
UFO Ultimate Follower Overhaul- More followers, better followers, dynamic followers
some tips:
READ the descriptions AND the comments. if you can't figure out how to install or use a mod, READ. before downloading a mod like "skyrim 30 FPS booster" READ the comments to see if it even works.
download with nexus mod manager unless otherwise stated. nexus will keep mods up to date with notifications, doesn't require zip copying, and is generally better than the steam service
i generally don't care about being lore friendly as i've already played through the game once as lore friendly. but there are mods that extend the lore.
explore. not every awesome mod is going to be right there on the front page. advanced searches and user-tagging allows you to narrow down what you want to download (use the nexus!!). sometimes you don't KNOW what you're looking for, and you may find something interesting. watching skyrim mod videos is a great way to find cool mods that you might not have known existed.
http://www.youtube.com/user/MMOxReview- does a lot of obscure and unique mods. he tends to sometimes run around in full nude[censored]/skimpy armor (warning for 12 year olds!)
http://www.youtube.com/user/GophersVids- the most professional. covers quality mods.
