And I could live without tablets. They're basically netbooks + touch - keyboard. Or an enlarged phone.

Yes, I realize that this is more of beefs with Apple but the control he had over Apple while that happened makes it a beef with him too (for me at least).

Except they aren't. And yes, I've tried one. And yes, that was an iPad 2. And the best feature it has was spider solitaire.

You must be some deprived child. To be honest, I had the same mind set as you when the iPad came out, but when my parents got them and they used it a lot, I saw how useful they are. My dad uses it all the time for business, i.e. Email, VNC, Presentations, etc. My mother uses it for reading, playing casual games, and browsing the internet. Me, my mom, and my dad all have iPhone 4's, and my little brother has the iPod Touch 4th Generation. Call me spoiled or egotistical, I don't care, but the products Apple comes out with are life helping products. There are so many apps on the store for pretty much anything.
