The case is low quality, the HDD is a bit overkill tbh, and the PSU *might* be adequate.
Hold up.
ok, what do you mean by hold-up. :{

I'm sorry man, I've asked way too many questions about build, going from 1200 to 550. It's just my parents, they don't understand this stuff and think 1200 on a computer just for games is stuff, so i have a low budget. :c

Gah that supercombo is looking really good right now...

ALSO, would a 2GB card be better, I just got enough to fit that in. Because I see that games are requiring more VRAM now, for example BF3 beta nearly used up all the 1GB VRAM on my friend's computer with a 560 ti.

lol my mom was the opposite, I pushed my budget from 1200 to 2000.  :cookieMonster:

OR

I could get a GTX 560 Ti for 10 more bucks lol:

Why though?
The 560Ti isn't this magnificent card you think it is. It's not that much better than the far cheaper HD6870.
I don't think it's worth getting 2GB VRAM on a HD6870.

And once again, you're stretching your budget.

oh yeah forgot about that :/. Sorry, thanks, I'll stick with your other one and hopefully I'll get it!

So I have a scenario followed by a question.

So I'm getting a gaming computer built with a whole bunch of great hardware. I don't know the specs because I'm having a computer expert build it, and he knows a lot about computers.

To keep the price down, I'm recycling the graphics card that is in the current computer, a NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT. 512 MB of Memory. It's kind of old.

I'm planning to run Battlefield 3 with it at hopefully high settings, but I'm not sure it would actually work. The new computer will have Windows 7 64-bit Professional on it.

This is probably the best megathread I've ever read.

how much are you paying for it? do you personally know the guy?

Ethan is an awesome guy who doesn't afraid of anything.

I hope I can get some more money to buy computer parts. Anyone want to buy a ton of hotwheels? :I
