Yeah, it should be fine.

Yeah, it should be fine.
I've never built a PC or installed a motherboard, Is there anything i need to know about? Like what do i do with the USB connections?

Bro, watch this video. I learned and really got into computers after this video. I think you will find it highly beneficial. Its tells you EVERY step on how to build a computer.

With the Front Panel USB there should be a 7-pin connector on the board with the same pattern as the connector on the case (typically like shown at the bottom of the post) and the rest should come in the motherboard documentation/manual.
I didn't read that it had IDE so if your DVD drive (also referred to as an optical disk drive) is IDE, you'll run into some problems. There are converters available from IDE to SATA and vice versa, so if it doesn't, you'll still be able to use it. Thermal paste for the processor should be straight-forward, although most heatsinks come with it pre-applied as a convenience. If it doesn't, make sure to put an ample amount between the two.

Typically a Front Panel USB connector looks like this:

alright guys, I have made some changes to what I plan on buying in the very near future. How does it look to you?

I think I have struck gold. What do you think? I also intend on having the 2600k at 4.5GHz clock.

I was wondering why that seemed fairly cheap then I realized you didn't include an OS

unless you're using a free one like Linux or something.

Thank you for the help, going to buy the motherboard and hopefully get it working O:

... bought my GTX 580 about 6 months ago for $530

feels bad man, a new GTX 680 is the same price  :panda:

would I run into any difficulties if I got the 680 and swapped it out with my 580 without changing any other parts?

edit: wow newegg is out of stock of every 680. didn't know they were so popular.

you may have to flip-flop between drivers from the 580 and the 680 but that's pretty much it

Lol, my whole system that I intend on buying will be around $2000. It will include that computer plus windows 7 professional, a razor black widow ultimate, and a 23" ACER monitor.

I have about £325, which is $518 according to google, what parts to get for PC?

Current specs:
Mainboard : Asus P8H61-M LX2
Processor : Intel Core i5 2500K @ 3300MHz
Physical Memory : 4096MB (2 x 2048 DDR3-SDRAM )
Video Card : AMD Radeon HD 6570
Hard Disk : SAMSUNG HD103SJ ATA Device (1000GB)

I'm thinking of getting this board,
http://www.maplin.co.uk/gigabyte-z68xp-ud4-motherboard-for-intel-skt-1155-processors-617704
OR:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Asus-P8Z68-V-PRO-GEN3-Motherboard/dp/B005T3TLM6/ref=pd_bxgy_computers_img_b

For a graphics card i'd also like an upgrade but for it to be still affordable, this is the one i'm currently looking at;
http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1gb-xfx-hd-6870-double-d-cooling-4200mhz-gddr5-gpu-900mhz-1120-stream-processors-2x-dvi-hdmi-2x-mini?utm_source=google+shopping&utm_medium=google+shopping

My current motherboard dosen't support processer overclocking which is annoying since i'd really like to overclock it from 3.3GHz to 3.7GHz, I also want more than just 4 gigs of ram in this thing.
If you could reccomend any parts which I really need performance wise, or gaming could you please suggest some?
I don't want to go all willy nilly spendy spendy without knowing a few things which could be better value for money D:
