not the extreme, the 3930k is just as good and like $500 less

This

also he should add an SSD if he's going to be spending that much anyway

guys dont worry
im stuck with my stuffty mac until i can buy my own stuff :(

If anyone would be so kind as to help me choose parts to upgrade as today is cyber monday, that would be fabulous.

What I have:

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-880GM-D2H
Processor: AMD Athlon II X2 220 2.8GHz
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6770
RAM: 4GB
OS: Windows 7
Anything else?

I'd like a new processor and possibly a new graphics card. 8GB of ram too, but I suppose I don't really need that. Either way, I use this computer to game on.

repost because no one seemed to care and I only have four more hours until midnight.

there's an Athlon II X4 on sale at NCIX US for like $59.99 if you want
otherwise it's pretty balanced

Definitely upgrade the RAM, its cheap to do so and it pays off.

If you want to upgrade the graphics card you should be getting something in the class of Radeon HD 6850 at least to make it worthwhile, imo. How much do you wanna spend?

Although the Athlon II X2 220 is pretty poor, maybe the CPU is what you really need to address.

i need some help from yall
1. what would be the process of ocing a 7950 (radeon) and with stock cooling only would it be recommended
2. someone help me pick a psu for this build. it needs to be relatively cheap but if i decide to go for the 7950 instead that'll be $100 more to my budget (budget max is like 1.17k)

your build is at $1138
$42 doesn't get a good psu, especially for a card like that

this could work, but it's not 80 plus
