Hmm, I was told a while ago that I could install it on the same hard drive if I was getting a different motherboard as long as I had the install disk.

Its worth a shot, but I am 99.9% sure the OEM/builder version doesn't allow for it.

When you install it with the disk, you've got 30 days (without installing any service packs) to activate, or it will automatically activate with the OEM key. In those 30 days you can change the key to a different one.

I've just decided to get more ram for my computer, I think my processor is fine and it's all I need.

What is the oldest component in your computer?

your processor has a bus speed of 533MHz and my processor which is just as old as yours has a bus speed of 1250MHz
it's your processor that's slowing you down

What's the naming convention of his processor?

can you recommend me a processor then that will work with my motherboard and is better than my current one then? Cause all I'm getting out of people is "MOTHERBOARD IS stuff, GET A NEW ONE"

I agree, an upgrade is needed. Though this is just one contributing factor but from seeing the lithography of that processor I can tell it's not recent (being 2006).

I just checked the specs, and it's only got 2kb RAM. It also lacks dedicated sound and video hardware, so I'd say it's on par with the NES.

I will have an external video processor and maybe audio hardware if im going to use it.

But on the other hand I decided to get the Arduino Due which has a 32-bit SAM3X8E processor at 84MHz. It also has 94Kb of SRAM. Also I can add ram.

So im thinking the cheaper version of the IBM PCjr.

That's a hell of a lot more powerful than what you were planning to use a few hours ago.

lol i know.

can somebody link me to a Thunderbolt card/adapter for Windows, if it exists?
Please answer this. :c

I have this LaCie LittleBigDisk and I want to use it as a backup drive for my build, since you guys pushed me out of mirroring two drives.

Your motherboard is very likely stuff. Any processor compatible with your motherboard is ancient and will suck just as badly as yours does, considering you have a very slow processor. We're only trying to help, don't deny that your processor isn't a problem, because it is. It's bad. You will likely have to upgrade your motherboard. Don't waste money on RAM if you're going to keep the awful processor.
