get cpu-z and tell us your motherboard socket
I know what it is, I just don't want to change a good motherboard like mine, the only thing I'd really touch in a computer is the hard drive, ram, video card and maybe sound card, but not the CPU.

Speaking of hard drives, is 149GB enough? Whenever I check it I always go loving fringdfgbeddfgb cause the space goes to 9GB free, then back to 20 or 50, should I consider upgrading it?

They need to know your motherboard so they can know the socket type, and if it goes with the cpu you want

As I've said before, the socket type is LGA775 because apparently, that's the motherboard Celeron d works with.

LGA 775 is old and any upgrades you could do are just going to be a waste of money since it's still gonna be outdated. You should just save up some money

with gaming, how much better would an FX-4170 do against a phenom II x4?

Which Phenom II x4, but most likely little to no difference

Amd fx vs intel core i5?

Max, ask for a lawnmower and work up money for a good computer.

How can this be improve?

That motherboard is awful, why did you get a 2700k if you're gonna get an h77 mobo? Go for a i5 2500k or i5 3500 and a z68 or whatever the ivybridge mobo is.

Guys help
I now have access to my father's old computer, but I've been having problems with the mouse. With several games, the camera spazzes out; it looks straight up at the ceiling and spins around rapidly. An attempt to control it will result in it looking straight down to the ground and spinning around rapidly. Turning sensitivity down results in the same phenomenon, only slower. When I do get control of it (akin to gaining control of an angry mare in heat) moving the camera is slippery, as if "on ice".
Affected games so far:
-Minecraft
-Blockland
-Vindictus

I searched for this problem on Google and came up with several results, all of whom simply changed to a different mouse and all their problems went away. I did switch to a different mouse. No change.

The previous mouse was a Microsoft Comfort Optical 3000, the current one is a Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0.

Is it that both of these mice suck ass and I should switch to a non-Microsoft mouse?

Using a Microsoft Windows Mobile Mouse 3k. no problems on this end. i'd highly recommend it, it fits well in my hand, no problems so far.
i think it's something about your computer.

Planned a $2.5k$1.8k build that will HOPEFULLY run Blockland at max shaders at 30+ FPS at a far render distance, and run Minecraft with GLSL mod.

I don't care about cooling noise, because I've gotten used to the loud fans of a XPS Gen 3. (I'd estimate 50-60dB when the CPU is hot. A bugged power supply will lead to it blasting the fans at ~90dB).

Tell me if the GTX690 is overkill in this case.Going with the GTX680. I don't need speakers nor a monitor, because I have the Companion 5 stereo speaker set (which costs about $300).

Yes, the hybrid drives will be mirrored so that I don't have to suffer the pain of losing lots of valuable data.

EDIT: Oh look, I got my 3k post.

You posted here before, and I'm not prone to forgetting things. This is your exact processor.

It's not anything wrong with his computer, I have a plenty of mice that do this, and they are indeed issues with the mice. I got a Razer DeathAdder 3.5G and it's the best loving mouse I've ever owned at a reasonable price. Highly recommend it.
