I don't see it lacking much, except in the video department which is clearly lacking. A GeForce GT 620 is not going to perform well gaming. It would be great for a studio PC.

would a GT 260 be better?

You don't have a dedicated graphics card, your computer also probably has a pretty meh power supply. So upgrading might be hard
Do you think it'd be easier to just build a better computer from scratch? I do need a computer to host a server and this one works fine, it's also got lots of storage so I can keep stuff on it for backup.

It's got almost three times the performance of a GT 620, so that would be a definate yes. Make sure you have a power supply that can support it, though. I think 550W would be recommended.

He has an LGA775 socket on his current board, he'll need to upgrade it.
wait wtf how do you know
how do I upgrade it
aaa I'm stupid

He is just telling you that your motherboard has an incompatible socket for that CPU you want. You will need to get a motherboard with an LGA 1155 socket if you want it to be compatible. Just go on Newegg and filter the search settings so that it only shows the 1155 sockets :)

i don't need power such as i3 or anything, just something better than celeron D.

Not AMD. Needs to fit socket LGA775, and somewhat 3.3GHz or faster.

The speed doesn't really matter that much if the architecture is stuff. Also anything LGA 775 is going to be stuff

:( well forget, should I just stick with the ram?

You should just not upgrade it, it probably uses ddr2 ram which has become more and more expensive.

but

I have the chance to buy whatever the forget I want this Christmas, but only £200 and lower.
I don't want to buy a mother board because then I'd have to refit everything and I don't want to over do it, I would like a lot more ram though, but a processor would also be nice :(

get cpu-z and tell us your motherboard socket
