Games run faster on Windows 8. As long as the hardware specs are good, a windows 8 laptop is a fine choice.
Looks expensive. My sister got a laptop on newegg for like $900 with the same specs (but a 640m and a lesser processor)You could probably save $100 or two. I'd keep looking.
How reasonable is this pre-built for my friend? He wants it for gaming, I'm going to give him my nVidia Geforce GTX 260 for it, would that fit?
I use my computer mainly for gaming, I'm fairly sure my processor is enough, I've got a nice monitor too, my games run slow on anything but the lowest graphics settings. Most of the laptops that have windows 8 and a decent graphics card are acer, which are not known for their quality.
You're right, acer is terrible.
