Do a full uninstall of your current drivers (use the uninstaller, then also run Driver Sweeper).

Reboot.

Clear your assembly using the instructions here:

Then, clear out the Windows GAC (Global Assembly Cache). In Windows 7, you can browse directly to "C:\Windows\assembly". Sort by "Public Key Token", then delete everything with the Token "90ba9c70f846762e" (ATI's key). You'll obviously need Administrator privileges. No reboot needed either. Reinstall the Vision engine and your drivers, and you're good to go.

Then download and install the whole catalyst package here (top one, version 11.10):

Nah, I keep the resolution all the way up :o

ok so my problem has to be a harddrive problem so i'll just wait for my dad to get home c:

Will do. Where should I get the Driver Sweeper from? I'm finding a few links but what one is the best?

Nevermind.

Can't shake the feeling that I'm gonna do something stupid and mess up. Goddamn this is taking quite a long time to uninstall.

You won't. Trust me, it's simple as long as you follow the instructions.

Now there are small flickering boxes flickering, and after a while the driver crashed. Happened twice in a row now. Temperature is around 54C and usage is pretty low.

What did you do?

What did you do?
Forum-browsing, having BL idling in the background and running TF2 for a trade. Still happens after shutting down BL and TF2 though.

That's quite a high temp for that, have you considered re-seating your GPU heatsink?

Err, what?
