Alright, I still made a few other changes to my build since I last posted, here is the most recent:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811208034 CASE

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103808 CPU

I am literally moments away from buying these parts, with some other parts (Not on the list anymore) already bought.  I just wanted to know a couple things, will the cooling system that comes with the processor be good enough for cooling?  Will a SATA floppy drive be compatible with this build?  Where can I buy a USB 2.0 cable that plugs directly into the motherboard with the same set of pins on each end?  And do you think my build will be able to play most/all games on good quality?  And finally, am I asking wayyy too many questions?

Thanks.

Just realized something about the problems Ive been having.  Before this happened GTA IV said there was about 2gb something video memory, when I have 1gb.  Now it says I have 1gb like I actually do. Does this information change anything? At the least I hope it tells me more about the problem.

Look at the display now compared to earlier.

Then

Now

The hell happened.  This really bites ass since I pre-ordered Saints Row the Third for PC. I did try the things you posted for me, and it didn't work. The drivers wouldn't install and there was no effect. All because I wanted to ever so slightly boost my performance ;_;.

The fact that your GPU went from an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5800 series to a 5870 is either some sort of wizardry involving magnets or you updated your drivers.

wtf man. was it really just that flood people were saying a few days ago?

Yes, the stock heatsink will be ample for stock clocks with no overclocking.
Yes, a SATA floppy will be compatible with that.
I don't really know what you mean with the USB cable. You want an extension cord for the headers?
Most games. What's your resolution? It will play nearly every game on ultra if you are running about 1440x900 or smaller.
Nope, never :D

Yeah.

Updated drivers.
Exactly, now it's picking up the exact specs. Why would you run on default windows drivers? nugget

I tried to install AMD/ATI drivers but to no avail.

Windows says the drivers are up to date too.

EDIT:

Updated again and dxdiag says everything is normal but still getting major lag.

I need a cable for the USB 2.0 for this.

OSX won't run on that. Refer to - http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/HCL_10.7.2

If you need OSX then you will probably want to get a 6870, because everything more powerful will take some hacky guides or a bios flash

That's really bad for a $1500 build TBH.
