Where do you live? There's a store called Microcenter, they have REALLY good deals on processors.

Around Chicago. Suburbs. I've heard about them.

would this be a nice set of memory for LAN hosting/online FPSing

All memory is pretty much the same.

Oh lookie what I found...
Not a bad deal.
Processor is ok, but the GPU is stuff.

Have any suggestions? I'm not sure what to get.
Coming up.

no thanks
It's not a bad resolution TBH. My favorite (picture quality wise) monitor lying around is 1366x768.

Guys, I still need a hand with this:
Also, from the other topic:

Citrus, you're making a mistake. You've turned down better specs for average ones that probably won't play TF2 well. The new SB Intel Graphics, like 3000, are nearly equal to about a 6550. And the i3-2310m is better than the AMD processors you have suggested.
I don't know if you will read this, but oh well. Why lock the topic? My god.
As I can't PM, could someone PM him for me? That would be a great help.

That's good, there's two Microcenters around the Chicago area. I REALLY recommend going to one of the stores and buying your processor plus mobo from there. It'll save you a lot of money.
Also, sent the PM Ethan.

Thanks, man.

I prefer 1080p for desktops.  For laptops 1366x768 would do great, as long as it's 16:9.

anything so far?
Sorry. Few questions first;
Prebuilt or custom built?
Monitor or no monitor?
Windows or do you already have a copy?

What I wanted you to measure was the distance parallel to the first port, from the back of the case to the nearest thing blocking the front.
Some graphics cards are around 9 inches long, and I want to know if it would fit.
About 20-25cm/7.5-10inch of space from the PCI port to the nearest thing that's blocking it. If I push some cables up I could squeeze a bit more space (about 2 inch)
The wattage of my power input is 400W.

Prebuilt, monitor, and windows. I checked for a copy but I don't have one.

I am going to run the harddrives in RAID 1.
I will buy every new part from NewEgg.

My little computer icon thing says I have no connection. But as you can see, I'm on the internet. What's going on? :o

Most of the stuff in that list is quite old by now. Also, you can't run hard drives in RAID unless they are identical.
Also, I would probably toss away that old case and find a better one at a junkyard. eMachines aren't really known for making quality products, and I wouldn't be surprised if their cases had crap cooling or proprietary motherboard mountings.
