Or I could just unlock the extra cores. Dual core might be good enough for me anyways.

Get the quad-core. No need to gamble for an unlock, just overall better. You won't be able to unlock it without a high TDP and high VRM phase motherboard.

What are these?

What motherboard do you have?
Also, you'd need to modify voltages in most cases, and there's a possibility that it can brick your CPU and motherboard if you unlock and the cores were bad.
It's good in theory but if it's only $10 more, go for the quad.

Get the Noctua NH-D14. Way better.
Have you gone in to the BIOS and changed the boot sequence?
Yeah, I even put harddrive at the bottom.

Edit: Do you want me to record the boot sequence?
It does some fast lines of stuff, then tells me to push Ctrl alt A to configure, press a key to continue, bleep bloop windows is loading wait what..

Pageloss

Perhaps it might help.

Alright, do you want me to send the video file on email or youtube?

Upload it to Youtube.

Upload it to Youtube.
Can't you pm me a spam email? It would be so much easier than pluging my computer back in and waiting for processing.
Also, new problem. It boots the OS now with no virus corruption, but the installer for the ISP says no system partition can be found.

So, my mother bought a MomentusXT to replace her broken HD. I hooked it up, and installed windows vista. While installing i noticed it only had 80 GB's of space, i disregarded that as some fluke. When windows was finished installing i decided to check the space left just to be sure, and it was, again, 80GB (Less now since windows was on it, but that doesn't matter). The box, and the website both say 500GB. What could be wrong?

1. I can't PM.
2. It looks like you've solved it? It's confusing. What is your actual problem? You talk about not being able to boot, then you say it can boot, then you say virus, then you say Internet Service Provider?

I thought it could be the caching, but then the cache is 4GB on that model so that doesn't make sense.
Not partitioned? Might be a dud drive.

do you think it will come back
or should I be looking for a new one
It is a current card so I can't see why not.

Could it be Vista?

EDIT: They boxed the wrong HD -_-

Ohlol. My iPod auto correct, let me retype that.
The computer I'm working with was completely corrupted by on of those fake virus protection things, but now, when I made the video, the OS surprised me by showing up completely functional, save for the hard drives being unreadable except for the OS.
So when I try to install windows from the installer, it says no valid partitions are found. I don't know what that means so I posted this.
