I need....

complete steps on how to fully build a computer in a nutshell.

Also, Ethan, mind telling me the steps to install more RAM into a computer?
My Mom only has 1.4 GBs of RAM and I want to install some more for her so her computer can run a bit faster.

Put rear I/O panel cover on the case, and open the drive bays for a DVD drive or etcetara.
Insert all HDDs, SSDs, and optical drives in the case (you can do this after or before, I find it easier to do it before)
Mount PSU in the top or bottom depending on your case.
Install Processor and Heatsink/Fan onto the motherboard
Install RAM.
Install motherboard.
Install GPU.
Install power cords to all devices needed.
Attempt power-on.

Pull the clips next to the RAM you're replacing, or the ones next to the empty slot you're going to add to, put it next to the slot a bit sideways, so you know you're putting it in right, then push down on the ends of the RAM until you hear a click on each side.

Since I am going to install Ubuntu, do I need to download the drivers for the motherboard to install on them? If I do what if they don't have Linux drives? Because surely Ubuntu has been installed on PCs with motherboards  without Linux drivers.

Also, my Mom has Win98, should I download Ubuntu?

You don't necessarily need many drivers for Linux, it has a vast database, but I would double check before installing it. You honestly never know.

Your mom pretty much has the max physical RAM that Windows 98 will allow. If she wants to keep the view of 98 and the functionality of an NT operating system, install Windows 2000 or XP.
But Ubuntu would be fine for it.

Opening it for chrimbo.

AMD Radeon HD 6545G2 Dual GPU graphics (512mb dedicated (3.8th total))
How will that perform?

I figured this would be the best place to ask this question.

I'm contemplating buying Burnout Paradise for my PC, and cyri says I'm way over minimum. What bothers me is my CPU (it sucks compared to my computer) is a Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 2.80GHz where the minimum for the game is 2.8 GHz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent (For Vista 3.2 GHz Intel Pentium 4)
Would I be able to run it well on High?
