If I get a solid state drive, how much will my preformence increase? I've got an nvidia geforce 9400m, 5 gigs of ram, and a core 2 duo.
No point with those stuff specs.

I'll just get a prebuild Asus g50vt then

No point but the only performance increase is your start up/shutdown time.

A friend of mine has one and he says it increases pretty much everything's performance.

G50VT-X5?
If that is the case, it's not much better than your current one.

Lol nope.
Also, you'd need a better processor and stuff like that to get reasonable performance from it.

From the rear (where you plug everything in) to the front (where the CD drive etc is), parallel to the long PCI-E port.
200w PSU?
No.
If you have $800, you could make an awesome gaming system, but that is tiny and wouldn't do much, and you'd have to use integrated graphics because of the low wattage PSU.
The SouthBridge heatsink is too close to the bottom.
I really want a small desktop, is there any way that could be done whilst having good specs?

The only performance increase I noticed was loading times for Windows 7, Minecraft and Battlefield 3.  And any other system programs I have on there.

I think I can sell it for around $500-600, or I can trade my Macbook for a G50Vt-X5.
If I can sell it, I'd have around $700. What gaming laptops would that get me?

Alright, sweet. Today I found out that my computer can run Skyrim on high settings :D

But then it took an arrow to the knee.

You could have a good processor, but the video card would be lacking.
OK for multitasking but not good for gaming and other intensive stuff.

Awesome. That'd get you a good laptop. Great laptop infact.

I found out today I can run 4 copies of Crysis 2 on max settings with playable framerates :P

In which case Ethan, could you make a $700 custom build for me intel/nvidia system.

In that tiny case you linked?

Uh
What are your specs again Ethan? :o

You do realize that the case you linked to is very small (even for an itx system).

If you really do want a very small system I would suggest something along the lines of this. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811112265

The case you linked to has a very small power supply and very bad cooling. With the case I linked to you would also be able to use a full size power supply which would be a pretty big advantage if you intend to build this yourself or if you need to upgrade in the future. It also has two pci slots open the back which means that you could put a capable gpu in it.
