It's probably your PSU/CPU fan. Perhaps a wire is touching it sometimes and making the beating noises.

Little bit of an edit of your $700 build, mainly using slightly higher quality parts.
Will it work and what else will I need to order to build my pc?

Wow, that is stuff for the price. Are prices really that much worse in England?

Oh, okay. But the case is cool right?
That case was low end. It's a cheap case. Looks =/= quality.

Would installing windows 7 onto a 16gb flash hard drive and all my software onto a 7400rps 1tb improve performance?
Only on to a SSD flash drive, not a USB stick..
USB is really slow compared to SATA, even SATA 1 or IDE.

Is this a better build for the price?

That motherboard is an AM3 board, meant for AMD processors. You have an Intel processor that requires a separate chipset, architecture and socket. Totally different.
Listen, what's your budget in pounds? I'll get you something good.

Oh dear I tried to do what I was trying to do and then my screen changed its resolution and then it brightened up my screen and I had to restart my pc.
OH DEAR GOD NO

should i be concerned if i sometimes hear beating noises inside my computer and sometimes when i start it up there's a low humming noise that's also a bit like a buzz?

or am i just paranoid
Could be a faulty fan. I wouldn't worry.
I've got one that does a really loving annoying sound, giving the case a smack helps :)
Don't be too hard though.

I need a great gpu for less! HELP!

Perfect. No, but seriously, I'd like a card for 200-270 dollars that can run games at EXTREME. I saw a few deals but am unsure. There are several brands like XFX which I heard isn't the best. I also heard that saphire was good.

6970, or if that's too much, definitely the 6950.

How good is your PSU?
Is there enough room in your case?
What CPU do you have?

XFX IMO is one of the best brands. Lifetime warranty on all their products.

Another question Ethan,

My current GPU is integrated into my motherboard, so if I were to install a new graphics card would I just plug all of the cables into the usual sockets?

Would using RAID_0 with a 111GB HDD and a 1TB HDD make a performance increase or decrease?
With the 111GB HDD being 5200RPM and the 1TB being 7200RPM.

You would only have 222gb of hdd if i'm not mistaken

Is that how it works? :o
I suppose I could install Windows on one and use the other for games and such.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standard_RAID_levels#RAID_0

It puts an equal amount data across the 2 hdd's, that why the speeds are so much higher than a normal hdd. I'm pretty sure thats how it works.

Also if you use it as a boot disk you don't really gain anything at all
