Alright, more questions.

My laptop I had for a couple years now, goes to 100% CPU and WiFi goes off and will not come back on until I restart the computer.  At first I thought it was over heating but sometimes it happens when the laptop is cool to the touch.

What do.

It's the Acer Aspire 5532.

No, I don't have a router. The hub is connected to a switch, not a router.
How are you getting internet?
Or maybe you're not on DSL, which requires a router?

i actually have no idea lol, i might not be

im not the one who set this up, my ex-roommate did and he's transferred to a different college. i've kept it like this since i haven't had any problems.

i'm just going to connect the router to a power source and create a new connection, and leave the hub alone and connected to my xbox. or, i may call my old roommate and ask him what the hell is going on. i still have his number

Aww yeah.
Just ordered Windows 7, DVD drive, and some case fans.

My computer arrived today! i just finished putting it together not knowing what i was doing, and it all works thank god! installing win 7 now!

2: This worked. Thank you :3

Thank you!
That seriously helped? I am proud.

Did you get the CPU all done good? What are the temperatures?

Try reinstalling the wifi drivers.

Try reinstalling the wifi drivers.
This happens on all OSs I use, win7,xp,vista,ubuntu,etc.

Whats a better server rack type: Rack or Blade?

You're logged in as administrator on your router?
when I was changing the settings?
yes

Got my Vantec Tornado fan, everything went down 15C in temperature on load. (40C to my CPU and 29C to my motherboard now.)
I love this thing already, but it's kinda loud.

If any of you have Logitech products you might have a device that shows two of the same thing under "Devices and Printers". This is due to the way Logitech components work regarding programmable keyboard buttons, etc...

I have a Logitech Mouse, keyboard, headset, webcam and joystick.

Whats a better server rack type: Rack or Blade?

Depends...
Blades require a chassis to run them in, and are ideal for renting dedicated servers, however if you only need to run one machine, use a single one as they are generally cheaper than buying a single blade and enclosure, and take up less space ( 1-2U generally)

Alright.
So, I've been running on this computer for a few weeks. I reinstalled XP once, and it's okay. I can't play any games really, but that's expected. I'm just wondering if with these specs, if what I'm doing is right (Web browsing, Listening to music, Homework) or if I should install a Linux distro. I can't downgrade to an older windows because:
1. '98 and lower doesn't support my WiFi
2. I had driver problems in Win2000.
So, stay as it is, or go to Linux? Puppy Linux doesn't like my computer, and it won't work installed to my HDD. Only as a LiveCD.

This happens on all OSs I use, win7,xp,vista,ubuntu,etc.
Does it happen if you disable the wifi altogether?
