All the other power supplies I have are either too low of a wattage, or are broken. I've already ordered a new power supply. I just wanted to triple check with another source to make sure that was the problem.

FYI cases are designed to have optimal air flow with the side panels on.

Multiple times. Each time I do so, the fans will spin for a fraction of a second, then promptly turn off.

I've broken many power supplies in my life, and two of them were while watching YouTube videos. Afterwards they would only spin up for a moment like yours. Some power supplies just don't like YouTube apparently...
You're going to have to replace it.

Is this a good laptop?

I'm looking for something around the $900 price-range. I mostly just play Source games and Blockland, so I don't need some graphics heavy laptop.

EDIT: Would this be an even better choice? It's cheaper and apparently it can run Crysis 2 on high settings.

The second one is better.

This one has a better CPU, and a marginally better GPU.

I'd open it up and check all the connections. But if you're not comfortable doing that, then maybe take it to a shop. Don't really want to stuff anything up.

The CPU is only 2.2GHz, what I have right now is a 2.2GHz. Shouldn't I be looking for something better?

a 2.2 GHz processor with modern, improved architecture is loads better than a 2.2 with older architecture.

And more cores too, don't forget.

Basically, a Core i7 at 2.2 GHz will be better than a Pentium at 2.2 GHz.

just got a old white computer case i can paint YUS

Can you get me THE BEST laptop you can find for $700? If you can, thanks. Any manufacturer as long as it's good and will last a long time.
