IMO the lower end nvidia cards are not worth it

Get a 6870, you could get it for $150 and it performs better than the 550

Comparing any mid-range card to a 550 is like comparing a commodore to an i386 system
The GTX 560 SE is a great upgrade choice for the price it's at right now, $109.99 after rebate

My new router is still being screwy with my wireless adapter. It works fine with the computer that the router is plugged into, but for some reason it will randomly drop signal and disconnecting and just stop working with my pc for a bit. Turning it off then back on seems to help it. My wireless adapter worked fine with my last router I had but this new one its not working very well.

my laptop fan stopped working to the point where it wouldn't spin at all.
restarts laptop, it works just fine now.

it's possible the fan controller had an unrecoverable issue that required a restart
mine does on my desktop computer every once in a blue moon and it's happened 3 times max

When I restart the router it will work fine for a while, not the PC.

Also what I don't get is that sometimes it will work fine for hours, then all of the sudden, drop connection.

someone code some hacklike plugin that tells me when that happens.

Rebates through EVGA aren't that different other than they actually give a forget if you get it or not

They aren't obligated to tell you if they recieved it or if it's good or not. You can sit there waiting for 8 weeks before realizing you aren't going to get your money back because the 7-day window you had is long over. Why do you think companies do it? They make money off of people who assume they'll get their rebates and then don't

You can sit there waiting for 8 weeks before realizing you aren't going to get your money back because the 7-day window you had is long over.

Personally I would only go for Nvidia because I've never really had an issue with them moreso the manufacturers of the cards, and they also have more features (such as CSAA and PhysX) compared to ATi and AMD cards

It looks to me like you're taking offense to a harmless thread of conversation. You should probably chill out a bit.

Anyways, you're assuming things that I haven't said and aren't true. First of all, I am not in the process of waiting for a rebate, and I'm certainly not upset about a previous incident with rebates. I'm being pretty objective here. The second thing you're assuming is that the company receives the mail. The postal system is pretty good, but it's far from perfect and mistakes happen, and I've talked to plenty of people who have sent in rebates and later discovered they had been returned without ever reaching the company, and have read even more accounts of it online
