A what? How does that relate me to him? It was a simple mistake.

Damn it, another mistake, my processor is a bi-core.
Most Core i5s are dual core with hyper threading, so it's kinda almost quad core-ish.

GTX 670 bitches. Everything plays 60+ FPS on ultra, 1920x1080 resolution. I'm set for many years.
I hope it's overclocked lol.  Overclocking a 670 can give you the performance of a 680.

My new graphics card just came in today. Do I need to uninstall the drivers for the gpu currently installed in my computer? (its not an on-board gpu)

> That feeling when all of your parts ship from new jersey EXCEPT for the POWER SUPPLY which ships from CALI-FREAKING-FORNIA

My excitement gland will surely rupture before it arrives.

managing to get your forgotten mount passphrase so you can recover your research from a ext4 drive is fun
oh wait no it's not
kernel panics everywhere

Bump.

I need that $1500 one. Then I can be sure I can run Hitman Absolution for sure, despite the fact I'm only 2 6000 series below.

why are the 8 core amd fx processors so cheap? whats wrong with them?

No. You don't.

AMD is generally much cheaper than Intel, but generally are not as good performance-wise.

No. You don't.
Since both are ATi cards, does that mean the catalyst control center installed with the new one "overright" or run instead of the one installed now?

My cousin has a 1300 dollar budget and would like a custom pc so he can run auto CAD.  The software is covered already and he would like a lot of power to design heavy engineering tasks.  As this will be going to college with him wherever he chooses in 2013.  He is the same as me at 17 years old so he's paying for it himself.  Any good advice on part lists because he has the GTX 690 already chosen which he could pay for via his parents but still, if you could build a list with auto CAD tasks in mind that'd be great.
