I gotta say though, I have the 900 antec case and it is loving SWEET

Man, I love the customizability of linux.

alright, so my brother scratched my monitor, since it was the actual monitor itself, I need a replacement monitor. Anyone got any suggestions? I would like to have one with a resolution of 1440x900 or more, and since I will need another one, they need to be reasonably priced, and with the power button not in a handicapped place. also don't ask me why I haven't killed him

only 700w? pssh, go higher if you have that big of a budget...

GPU is not that great, I can find one better than that and only $20 more.
I'm not really going to go with this, sorry.
I kept it within the stated budget, and literally looked up the performance of everything around that price
that is the best you're getting for the subtotal

Arch; nice. Have fun eventually having stuff broken due to Pacman's extreme up-to-dateness.

In all honesty, Redhat-based distributions seem to perform the best on all of my computers without having plenty of compatibility issues, most especially CentOS.

Personally I'd go with ArchLinux because of its ease of use and any distro is better than Ubuntu.

What? Arch? Ease of use? You're confused. Arch is probably the hardest OS to use, figuring you have to configure the entire thing from the command line. Only once you actually go off the guided trail do you begin to even see graphical interfaces, and it's a million personal options before you even see a desktop. Ubuntu, Fedora, RedHat, Debian, SlackWare, etc, all are like 5 clicks away from being fully operational on your computer.

Erm what lol? I thought you have to set that up manually, even down to choosing the desktop environment?

You so crazy lady.

That's like saying CentOS' minimal install is straight-forward because it's a command line

woo woo.

steam decided to be a forgettard and go: "HERP DERP VERIFYING TF2 LOL VERIFYING GMOD"
it was bad but this recent side effect never happened:
when i was launching gmod i refreshed the server list because it wasnt loading and...

BSOD with the reason of PFN_LIST_CORRUPT

what is this and why is gmod sticking corrupt memory into the ram?

at first i thought this involved the start menu and that i was going to get a bsod every time i clicked the start button.

its just a bad driver/bad memory/bad hdd error.

probably bad memory in the ram because i didnt get any problems afterwards.

also i didnt bother dissecting the minidump because it only happened once and if it happens again ill dissect it.

Post the second parameter or the memory dump located in %WINDIR%\Minidump
Otherwise it could be anything it says on this page.
