Me and Koopa are in the same situation.

Look at this. Im paying loving verizon for an ADSL only internet connection, because its the only thing you can get in these houses where I am. Ive had it also.

>promised 10mb/s
>600kb/s

Your ISP was likely talking about megaBITS per second. 5-6 megabits per second = 625-750 kilobytes per second, which is congruent with most of those speed test results (which fluctuate even on good connections). No ISP that I know of uses Megabytes per second to rank their connection speed because megabits sound like a larger number.
I realize all ISPs use megabits to state connection speed, but when you're promised 5 - 6 and you're only getting 1.14 - 0.04, that's really irritating.

$62/Month for 100MB down/10MB up here in Finland.

Odd, we pay $38 for that.

So you have dial up/usb stick? USB sticks are piece of stuff in my country at least.

This is like the only way to get customers here. Only those companies who provide USB stick internet limit your bandwidth and speed even though they say you can use it without limitations with an *, which explanation is written in small print and states the opposite.

Meh, I'm fine with it...

What area of Canada do you live in?

Some people have dial-up still. Internet is magic, be grateful it works right sometimes.
