Author Topic: Kodleeshare.net - Survival Minecraft - This is the end.  (Read 150715 times)

I was at spawn after warping there from a faroff island. I used the /return command at least 42 times (at last count) and it DIDN'T WORK A SINGLE TIME. Meanwhile a massive horde of zombies had formed around me. I tried hiding in the town hall and /returning; didn't work and soon they were even more everywhere. Then Zane kills me while swinging his sword wildly at zombies instead of waiting for them all to burn to death because it was already morning.

You need to fix that command.

Pretty sure you guys aren't even supposed to have that command.

don't you dare even remove that command it would be like removing /home.

You guys haven't had it for a majority of the existence of the server, it's a mod/admin ability.

I know but I use it sooo much like when I'm caving if I can't go home to quickly. To unload my inv or grab a new tool its just irritating. Since when I go caving I usually come out with 11 stacks of coal ore, 9 stacks of iron ore, 3 stacks of gold, 4 or more of redstone, 1 stack of diamond ore or less and 1 or 2 stacks of lapis. and my inv can't hold all of it so using /home and then using /return is a life saver.

Oh by the way I modified the enderman exp farm it now has a beacon, 3 wide iceway to it, new clean & safe interior and the rest of the spawning pads I'll add tommorow.

I feel like you would have more fun if you COULDN'T instantly teleport back and forth everywhere ;)

not really :p and my ender chest is always full... dang.

Oh come on trifax, that thing is essential. On a multiplayer server, to find NEW resources, you need to travel MUCH farther than on a singleplayer server cause everyone else has already taken everything that might have existed within maybe three thousand blocks of the spawn. But because you have to travel through so much stuff and you don't dare kill all the animals you find (as a consideration to others), and because there's a 2x spawn rate, we need to be able to pull back to safety with a minimum of fuss. On a singleplayer server, you can do things your own way and even change to peaceful if you're being hassled too much, but on multiplayer there is no such option.

Therefore, because we will have to haul ourselves across the world almost constantly when searching for resources, and because we will invariably take twice as long if we stop for night (which wouldn't be a problem if not for 2x spawns and zombie hordes), we will have much less fun, because we will constantly be murdered and massacred, lose our vehicles or horses, and generally take half of forever to get anywhere interesting, EVERY TIME OUR INVENTORY FILLS UP.

Also people will be mad because they'll know I was the one who got it removed. Dragonoid and Ultima are the only people who don't use it all that much at all.

Well, brandon just said in the server he's quitting Kodleeshare. Can't tell if he's kidding.

How can people get so mad/annoyed about something getting removed that isnt even necessary?

since grumpville is established, i use that as my home, and use /sethome for a place thats necessary.

Look, /return is non-essential to playing the game. Players have made out more than fine without it this whole time, calm down. You act like I'm taking away the ability to set a home.

Look, it might be easy for you, but when you live at a non-established warp point you're still going to have a helluva time getting to and fro, so I'm thinkin that's not gonna work so well. Especially if the entire point of your home is that nobody knows where it is.

It's as easy for me as it is for you. I don't use the commands to advance my personal work in the game, I only use it to deal with griefing, or other player problems.

It's worked just fine for years, find a way around it. Use beds, leave trails, learn the landscape, build maps, get creative.

And zombies didn't horde and the difficulty didn't increase when you hung around one area (both of which stack with the 2x mob spawn rate). I'm saying it's so much easier to do what Brandon says he's doing and setting your /home to your ex-/return and your real home to a warp, which won't work well for me for reasons that I asked you about antigriefing via pm.
