Since sooo many people hate Call of Duty, I've summed up the 8 basic responses of why others hate it so much. If you like Call of Duty, then feel free to voice your opinion, but don't say it's better than anything else. Your opinion isn't followed by everyone.
Same with other games, such as Battlefield and Homefront and stuff. This isn't about that, I'm asking you why you hate the Call of Duty, not why you like other games.

Personally, I do like it, but only if I play it with friends. How people can bother to play it by themselves confusing me. The multiplayer gets a little too repetitive, but most games do follow that path, but everything seems unbalanced once people get way to familiar with it, and the amount of people obsessed with it is beyond me.

One thing I bet, is that if you're asked to make a new CoD title, you'd sure as hell do it to rake in millions of bucks from a clone of the games from 4 and on.

FPS games are boring. All you do is go around killing things by various means.
An RPG, however, lets you do the same and MORE. :D

it's an assault rifle bonerfest

any other gun besides ak74u and assault rifles is loving horrible. campers everywhere. bullstuff perks like commando, second chance, ghost, etc.

its the same loving game.

You know how boring a "realistic" war game would be
sure you'd have that 1 black hawk down mission
but then the rest is driving in humvees
doing patrols and seeing nothing
or searching for al queada in the mountains of afghanistan
where if you're shot at you have no idea where the enemy is

You mean like,
every other game
liek battlefield 2 and 3
better graphics, different maps and guns

I hate the community, but that is the same for alot of games. Honestly because most the tools in my school play it, it became impossible to enjoy.

Each game is practically the same; "get killstreaks and prestige." I found Black Ops kind of fun because of the innovative gameplay, but it still kind of sucked. Additionally, the community is kind of bad.

The fanboys are handicapped (I know pretty much every franchise's are but it's especially prevalent here).
It's been more or less the same 60 dollar game for the past four installments, plus the inevitable 10 dollar map packs.
Bullet entry is idiotic.
BLODDY SCREEN SO REAL.
Pathetic attempts to be "edgy".
Complete and utter failure on the highest level of logistical failure when it comes to plot.
Campaign looks like a bad summer action flick.
LOL NUKES!

Oh stuff monday you did not just go there.

For the record, I thought CoD4 and 5 were pretty fun. When MW2 and Black Ops came around I was thinking "this looks more or less the same as the others", and with Modern Warfare 3 I am completely convinced that Call of Duty is the Madden NFL of FPS games.

Then why would you deliberately say something that you know is wrong on a significant scale.

Is the concept between the games the same? Yes. Is the execution the same? forget no. There are people who are outraged that BF3 is not a reskin of their precious BF2, saying stuff like how it's a cruddy console port and that they want their commander position back and that the regenerating health is a cancer and that the whole thing is trying to be like call of duty and so on. They are similar, but not nearly as alike as the recent CoD games have been to each other.

If BF2, 3, and 2142 were both put on 1942's engine (like how Vietnam was), then you'd have a point. But so far DICE has done an okay job of not rehashing. Although EA may be getting some ideas from Activision that could turn out rather badly.

Also as an addendum to my above post, I don't hate Infinity Ward and Treyarch for making the same game over and over, I hate the publisher who forces them to.

>same thing over and over
If it ain't broke don't fix it.
Simple as that.

So if you guys are saying it's too much like MW2, what would you change?
I mean, all I'm seeing is hate on the stuff they're NOT changing, nothing about how they should change it.

Poll needs an "I like CoD option"

"It's the same exact thing as the other ones"

it's not their fault, shooter year 2011 was brought on by the majority of gamers. You either play indie games, or you play shooters. Rarely, there's a different genre released. It's going to stick like this for a long time.

ok, so why bother making more?
