Beginning this show I was excited because forget yeah submarines and naval warfare. Then it became a harem. Then at the end you realize there's like 15 characters and you don't know a single thing about any of them.

Exactly.

Especially funny because it's 90% a comedy anime but it has better fighting animations than a big-budget anime like One Piece, where every battle is just a slideshow.

They only forgeted it up post time-skip. Around Punk Hazard's beginning.

But boy do they know how to animate terribly. I'm more interested in the manga artwork anyways.

probably gonna watch princess monoke, kiki's delivery service, and howl's moving castle sometime soon too
