Gungrave and Trigun are good. Gungrave was one of the first series I watched all the way through. For Trigun, I only watched bits of the series, but Badlands Rumble was awesome.

Is fullmetal Alchemist good?

I never watched it but I heard it is a great anime. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is more like the original story told in the manga while Fullmetal Alchemist has it's own story, both of them are great peices of work. If you don't mind the concept of Alchemy, I say give it a try. Most people say it has a great story and the animation is great aswell.

Like what WALDO said, it is good and I loved watching it. Also as a personal opinion, watched the dubbed ones. The subs voices are very inaccurate for the ages the main characters are.

Oh my god yes. It was the first real anime I watched. It was fantastic to get me started.
