It's...interesting. I never watched the original Gatchaman but this series feels rushed in terms of pacing, like it should have been a 24 episode series. They could have made the MESS storyline build up before they're shown to not actually be the antagonists, but they do that in the first 2 episodes.

Also why the forget does Rui even need to crossdress?
