It was never dubbed, but they did dub the first episode and it was terrible. Like the guy who did the main character wasn't even trying. Just watch it subbed.

Gurren Lagaan is one of the very few mecha anime's I've completed/liked.
Really find it dificult to get into mechs, just not my cup of tea.

Evangelion is awesome but it's not for everyone. Rebuild would have been more accessible, but 3.0 happened.
