there's plenty of reasons to believe some wikipedia articles
citations and such

I usually check references if I'm a bit skeptical about a certain fact.

There are rumors of hackers getting into wikipedia, changing the infomation. (its rare)

Wikipedia locks most of the important pages, like for example, famous people such as Abraham Lincoln. Other stuff, that you don't really need to know, well, you know.
