in response to people having trouble coming up with music ideas

Kingdaro's Wonderful Guide to Making a Song Whenever the Hell You Want

1. think of a drop/chorus melody for the song
2. grab any generic VST you usually use and make the drop, keep it as a pattern
3. refine JUST the drop, with drums and background sounds 'n' sub bass 'n' stuff, as though the drop where a full song
4. build on that drop
5. can't think of any ideas? save the drop and pick it up later.

this is usually how i go about my music, not 100% success rate though, but it usually works. hyperdrive and crystal clear were both drops i had saved and added on later.

i have like three drops saved now and i plan on turning them all into an EP

maybe

yes, maroon 5 is amazing

whats that current song that everyone likes by maroon five that isnt payphone? i want someone to do a remix of it.

also I'm totally doing a remix of moves like jagger because I found a great acapella

oh another thing, Monstercat and Tasty Network are doing a Plug.dj session!

Holyforget guys get in, this is amazing.

Usually the stuff that gives me inspiration is not EDM.

This is a good song that is inspiring to me

So I want to finish this and think I'm gonna add some hard bass stuff or whatevs but I like am god awful at making hard basses apparently.

Muzzy just played one of his new, unreleased songs, it was fantastic to say the least.

Muzzy - Ain't No Party Like a Top Hat Party (WIP)

Going to be so good when it releases. That drop was just insane.

ok focusing on drops and whatnot isn't really good advice to give people.  not everyone has to be like doctor p and skrillex

songs like Language, Easy, Claymore, The End, Sun & Moon, etc. would have never been made if people worked as you said

Hey can someone recommend me artists/songs? I personally like Alex S. and Daft Punk, so could you base the recommendations off of that or something?

bleh, i probably didn't really word my process very well

i didn't say to put 100% focus on just the drop. when i said "build upon it", i mean expand it into an actual song, in any way possible, and to only start with the drop.

i didn't imply that the rest of the song was unimportant, just to start with a drop/chorus melody
