No, it isn't. Just because it has a prominent kick with a long decay doesn't make it Hardstyle.

ok whatever you say genre master 2012 gonna listen to you always

I'm not saying I'm a genre master I'm just a person who actually listens to Hardstyle and it sounds nothing like Hardstyle, even the kick is off from the Hardstyle kick sound.

or you could just not declassify it as hardstyle just because it doesn't sound like every other hardstyle song that exists

being unique within a genre isn't impossible

Being unique isn't impossible, but when you change everything about it besides 50% of one element, it's no longer that genre.

i'm listening to the song and the synths and everything, it still sounds like hardstyle

???????

Satan

The reason you think it sounds like Hardstyle is because it's the only genre you know of that uses such a prominent kick with a long decay. Aside from that, the BPM is wrong, the synths are wrong, the kick is too high pitched and not the correct reverb sound, the structure of the song is wrong, literally everything aside from that kick is NOTHING like Hardstyle. Your misclassification is a result of ignorance, even Ephixa didn't classify it as Hardstyle, he classified it as "Yacht House."

who cares what genre it is it still sounds like stuff

there's a specific hardstyle BPM?
there are specific hardstyle kicks?
there's a specific "correct reverb sound" wtf

that's not how i'd define a genre, but w/e

150BPM is the specific BPM for Hardstyle. Nobody produces outside of it anymore, but old stuff was produced at 140.
Hardstyle kicks have a certain sound to them, they're really hollow and heavy. This kick is too compressed, it sounds awful.

so many new songs and artists to maybe start to listen to holy stuff, and ones i've already heard of, too.

in case y'all didn't see it, here's deadmau5 performing at the iTunes Festival earlier this year

god he is so loving amazing at performing live aahhhhhh

Okay, I have some meta EDM topics to ask about.

How long did it take Deadmau5, or Ephixa, or Madeon to get big?

What is the best way to get "noticed"

One day I would love to play a show like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5rb968r42W0
what do I have to do to get to that point.

I'm not looking for answers like "make good music" because that's obvious.

(just because I said don't do it, I know you forgeters are gonna do it >:()
