Why do people like Saints Row and not Serious Sam 3?

lol, when I'm playing Saints Row 2 the last thing I ever think is "oh man this is so much better than X first-person shooter."
Especially since the Saints Row games aren't first-person shooters. Gasp!

Rugrats and drawn together are both cartoons, but why do parents love letting their kids watch one but treat the other like Satan? Seriously, something can have one thing in common, that doesn't make it comparable. Serious Sam and saints row are completely different games.
