I think catching every Pokémon is easier on X&Y thank Black/White because even though there are 69 more Pokémon, there are many new ways of obtaining through trades.

True, but I only traded for evolutions that required trade and ones not found in X. All caught and bred/evolved.

I know shinies are supposed to be more common, and Reg has apparantely met a bunch of them, but I've not encountered one yet.

I've not used any repels either and I've spent most of my time travelling on foot through tall-grass patches and so forth, rather than flying to and fro.

I'm not really looking for any at the moment though.
