I know shinies are supposed to be more common, and Reg has apparantely met a bunch of them, but I've not encountered one yet.

I've not used any repels either and I've spent most of my time travelling on foot through tall-grass patches and so forth, rather than flying to and fro.

I'm not really looking for any at the moment though.
theyre more common in friend safaris, but i dont think they were upd for encounters

my shiny pangoro was through breeding
and the shiny meditite was through a friend safari

i havent encountered a single shiny pokemon in the wild

Mine telling those of us that aren't so pokemon-savvy what that means?

I know Soak is a move that makes the pokemon water type.
I think.

I actually had no idea what was going on at first either.

Shedinja is the Pokemon with 1 HP and Wonder Guard, so you have to use something super-effective against Bug or Ghost, or knock it out with residual damage like Stealth Rock, Hail, or Burn. When I saw it in team preview, I knew the ways I had to kill it were Crunch, two Rock Slides, and Sand Stream. Previously, people would give it a Focus Sash so it could live two hits and use their own form of weather so it wouldn't die to Sand or Hail. This is what I expected.

He's got Basculin and Shedinja on the field (his only 2 left), I have Gyarados and Tyranitar (and a Garchomp in my party), and there's a sandstorm brewing. One gimmicky strategy I remembered was to have Basculin, the fastest user of Soak, change Shedinja into Water type so now you have to use something super-effective against Water, which I did not have. If he used Sunny Day to remove my residual damage, I would be in trouble. I had Gyarados use Taunt on the Shedinja that turn so he couldn't, but he didn't even try and when the turn ended it didn't take damage from the sand.

My first thought is somehow Wonder Guard is protecting him from the sand damage this generation but I figured that would be too good to be true. I found Serebii's list of new items and ctrl+F'd "weather" to find there's a new item, Safety Goggles, that prevents the holder from taking weather damage and being affected by powder moves. The Shedinja had to be holding it, and I had no way of doing damage to it.

I killed his Basculin and still had 3 Pokemon left, so after trying to PP stall him a bit and realizing he could win before he ran out of PP, I decided to take about 50 seconds per turn (60 is max) so that the 30 minute game timer would run out before he could win. When that happens, the team with more HP wins the game. I was down to only my Garchomp, but since Shedinja has 1 HP, as long as my Garchomp was alive, I won, which he was.

tl;dr Opponent on wifi abuses a new item so I abuse a game mechanic to get the victory.

To be honest, it looked like he was being strategic with his held items while you just exploited the battle clock.

That's the point.

If you've got a level 91+ female Magikarp there's a shiny Fletchling with Big Pecks named "Thanks0bama" on the GTS right now

Ben Watts / ben has a Sandile, Mightyena, and he hasn't beat the elite four yet
What.

I don't have a Sandile or a Mightyena. And I HAVE defeated the Elite four, just haven't defeated the champion.

What.

What do you mean "tricks"? Delibird is an awful pokemon, but Smeargle is usable, but idk if you're going for actual competitive value or doing this just for kicks.

when i say tricks i mean do it for kicks and piss off the other player. smeargle can technically learn anything so i guess he's on the team.
