What do those little personality blurbs mean?

For example, it says on my Shinx, "Mischievous. Happily eats anything."

Or on Piplup. "Capable of taking hits. Likes dry food."

The food is what Poffin they like the most. The personality has to do with IVs, I think.

I'd be willing to switch out Rotom entirely, but I don't know what I'd go with instead

Good 'ol CoroCoro is releasing information about a new Pokemon game in their next issue on January 14th. Nothing is known about that game, but CoroCoro claims it to be a "world first shocking announcement".

In Diamond/Pearl/Platinum, they would change stuff like Cute/Tough/etc. for the contests or whatever. I don't remember exactly because I haven't played Pearl in a while.
