My cousins are deep into Pokemon and old games (they're only 9 and 11 so they're really fascinated by the games I grew up with, and even more-so the ones that came out before my time), so putting 2 and 2 together they asked me to bring my GBC and one of my old Pokemon carts with me the next time I went to visit...though when the day came I went looking for my GBC and found out the screen was busted
I grabbed my GBASP instead as well as Silver version (my Crystal, Blue, and Yellow were MIA and my Red's battery is dry), but we quickly realized the internal battery had recently bit the dust
However, the 9-year-old insisted that he was going to play the game through anyway -- no saving before battles and never turning off the game until he was done, keeping the GBASP charged -- reminiscent of someone who grew up in the era of early games in which saving was not always an option
I'm so proud
