MOVESET:

slash
cut
scratch
metal claw

i want bisharp holding a hitotsuki riding a aggron on top of a rhydon STAT

at first i was indifferent about a sword pokemon

then i realized a lot of japanese rpgs have swords as enemies.

Secret of mana and final fantasy both have possessed floating swords as enemies.

Yet another video is out for X&Y, this time hosted by Masuda himself; talking about how excited he is that the games will be released all over the world on the same date, the inspiration behind Kalos, and a little bit about the sword Pokemon revealed yesterday, now given the English name Honedge

Honedge comes into being when a departed spirit possesses a sword that once belonged to humans. It can use the blue cloth attached to its hilt as nimbly as an arm. Pokémon Trainers who carelessly take this blade in hand may find the blue cloth wrapping itself around them and draining their energy! Honedge can also learn Swords Dance. It is 2'07" and weighs 4.4lbs.

It also uses what appears to be a signature move in the French version of the trailer (it was removed from the English version for some reason) that you can see here

I'm still not sure how a sword works in Pokemon, i mean, there are Pokemon that attack with sharp claws and all, but this is a sword, i dunno, it just feels weird having a sword Pokemon that can cut through Pokemon and have it be family friendly

Especially with that dramatic samurai sideways slash attack it used in that video

Pokemon have been incinerating, freezing alive, slashing, exploding, electrocuting, and blasting each other with lasers since the beginning of time

Checked twitter from my phone before bed and noticed some Pokémon tweets, looks like CoroCoro released some more Pokémon and info, including some squid Pokémon, Pancham's evolution and a uh... Cotton candy Pokémon

Can't post all the info here myself since I'm mobile but serebii has all the details as always

Someone else can go ahead and post the pictures here, if not I'll get it tomorrow

did they just give up on pokemon and say "look at that object over there let's make it a pokemon"??

I don't get the disapproval of Pokemon based off of inanimate objects.

Most other pokemon are just based off of animals anyway.
What's the difference between combining Electricity with a Mouse, and combining a Ghost with a sword?
Also, how many Dragon Pokemon are just based off of Dragons?

And really, it doesn't matter if it's not "creative" or "original".
How many other games do you get to fight using a living ice-cream cone, or weild the power of a pair of floating magnets?

The games are fun no matter what the Pokemon are based off of.
And even if you happen to dislike 5 of the 600+ Pokemon, just don't use those ones.

I refused to play black and white. Ice Cream Cone. Pokemon..
Really? You refused to play an entire game just because of one evolutionary line?

It's actually a pretty fantastic game
The story's phenomenal.
