GameFreak has posted a picture of a silhouette with some text on their website

The text reads as follows: "A classic game that's played all over the world will be reborn in a surprising collaboration."

This could coincide with CoroCoro's "biggest scoop of the century", or it may not even be about Pokemon at all. While GameFreak hasn't really made anything other than Pokemon that's "played all over the world", they could just as easily be collaborating with another company's popular IP.

On the latest episode of Pokemon Smash, the hosts were loaned a beta copy of X/Y from Junichi Masuda, and went through a few minutes of the game showing fishing (including Octillery's appearance in the game), surfing (it's still just a generic "shadow Pokemon" that you ride on unfortunately), and an Inkay being found on an island. There should be a video up eventually.


So I'm sitting here playing Yet Another Fire Red Hack, and as I make attempt after attempt to catch a Beldum I can't even begin to imagine what kind of sadistic starfish designed this thing

Lowest catch rate in the game and the only move it ever knows is Take Down

The 3DS eShop has updated with images for X&Y that show both screens at once, where before we had only been seeing shots of the top screen for the most part. As expected the bottom screen will have much the same function as with Black & White, with the same layout for battles as before (albeit with a different graphic style) and the PSS (X&Y's version of the C-Gear, now with convenient menu buttons) when moving about.

I've seen the acquaintance hud, and now that I've seen the bottom screen design I am really hoping that's not what they're going to stick with because it looks ugly in my opinion

octillery never gave a forget

he could learn rock blast, ice beam, flamethrower and bullet seed. What the stuff, he is such a versatile dude, but sadly isn't competitive worthy. Unless you're fighting your friend from school that pretty much only raises the starter.

I was about to go off on Bullet Seed for being such a stuffty move until I discovered that its base power was raised from 10 to 25 this generation

That was a good move on GameFreak's part, even early grass moves like Vine Whip did more consistent damage before
